If you were to ask your favorite athlete or musician how they stay sharp, at the top of their game, they would tell you that they practice. A lot. Continuously. It takes a lot of work to get to the top, but even more work to stay there.
But what if I asked you the same question? What do YOU do to stay sharp?
Most college marketers are spending endless hours each week in meetings or responding to emails. The little bit of time left is spent engaging in marketing and recruitment activities. But how do you know that you’re engaging in these activities the right way, or if you’re even engaging in the right activities to begin with?

It is so easy to never invest time in yourself. We’re all guilty of it, but I want better than that for you. We speak with college marketers every day that want to know more than they know, want to do more than they’re doing. These conversations are what inspire us at Rekrewt to create so many resources for community college marketers just like yourself.

— The Community College Marketing Show podcast. I have hosted a podcast since 2018 that is all about marketing for community colleges. Many episodes feature a guest, a marketer from a community college, diving deep into a subject or tactic they’ve excelled at. Some episodes feature myself, a solocast, sharing data from recent research, or sharing insights we’ve learned from recent campaigns that we’ve strategized and managed. Regardless, each and every episode has many great takeaways that you can put to work right away.
The podcast is completely free, and you can listen to it just about anywhere. On our website, rekrewt.com, in iTunes, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google podcasts, and on and on. — Weekly videos, just like this one. Each and every week I publish a video about a specific topic that I think community college marketers should be thinking about. These videos are short and easy to watch, usually 3-4 minutes, and are always made only for community college marketers. You can watch these for free on our website, rekrewt.com, or get them via email.
–Speaking of email, each week I send out our Community College Weekly Insights email. This email includes an exclusive column by me that you won’t find anywhere else, our weekly video, and other timely content that will benefit you. Subscribers also get early access to event registrations, special offers, and more.
–Research Report. Several times each year, we commission custom research of prospective community college students. We want to learn how they think, what they’re looking for, and so much more. These are a LOT of fun, and are very helpful. I’ll typically spend a podcast episode diving into the highlights, and will make a few videos as well about the findings. You can get the full data and report for free, though, just keep an eye out for an invite next time we publish a report.
–Webinars. Every 1-2 months I’ll present a free, live webinar on a marketing topic just for community college marketers. These are great, as I not only present, but I also take your questions live throughout the session. If you can’t watch live, we always make the replay available afterwards. We’ll announce upcoming webinars in our weekly emails, and I’ll link to them on my LinkedIn page, so be sure to follow me there so you don’t miss webinars or anything else.
–Events. In addition to all of this great, free, online content, we also have in-person events. Coming up in January, 2020, we have The Community College Digital Workshop, a two-day event at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort at Walt Disney World. We also have plans for another event in the fall, top secret for now but announcements coming soon. These events will be annual events, so we hope you attend and became a regular attendee!
